Reformer
A 40 minute group class using our beautiful Pioneer and Merrithew Reformers; fully supervised and facilitated by our STOTT trained instructors.
Reformer Pilates is done using the Pilates reformer machine and can be more intense and dynamic than mat based Pilates with the added resistance of springs which form part of the machine.
We have a maximum of 8 clients per class ensures an intensely focused session with modifications to cater from beginner to advanced participants
INTRO REFORMER CLASSES: New visitors to Inna Essence have access to book 30 minute Intro Reformer classes, specifically programmed for beginners.
Our method of Pilates teaching sees the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science, fascial fitness and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and most effective methods available.
Reformer Pilates helps both men and women of all ages develop optimal strength, flexibility, endurance and posture, without building bulk or stressing joints.
Jumpboard Reformer
The jumpboard is a padded plate that replaces the foot bar on the reformer and provides an excellent and non-weight bearing method to increase the heart rate during a reformer class.
Jumpboard Reformer is safe and much easier on the joints than running. There is no jarring of the knee joints, and clients will enjoy a full body workout, with strong abdominal control required to stabilise the body.
Jumpboard Reformer is a class for members experienced in traditional reformer pilates.
*NOT SUITABLE DURING PREGNANCY*

Mat Pilates
Pilates, pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates, is a mind-body exercise system designed to optimize physical fitness in people at every level of physical ability. Joseph Pilates (1880–1967) was a German expatriate who first made his mark in England during WWI by developing a series of exercises and innovative equipment to help prisoners of war regain strength and mobility. When Joseph Pilates immigrated to New York, the local professional dance community discovered that his conditioning technique, called ‘Contrology’ helped prevent injury and improve strength while maintaining long, even muscle tone.
A Mat Pilates class at Inna Essence incorporates modern exercise principles, including contemporary thinking on spinal rehabilitation, fascial integration, muscle conditioning and athletic performance enhancement. We place a strong emphasis on scapular stabilization, lumbo-pelvic placement and postural alignment.
Pilates is essentially about re-educating your body, undoing the damage that years of stress and immobility inflict. By repeatedly holding certain corrective positions, our musculature starts to retain a memory of how they feel, and in time will actually adopt them automatically – without us having to think about them.

Stretch & Flow Mat
